Town Garden Open Saturday 26 August 2023
Cnr Raglan & Banana Streets, Granville
Maryborough Garden Club have designed and built a food forest, with the hope that the local Granville children will benefit from the ‘fruits’ of their labour.
Although still in its infancy, art and design are an important aspect of the garden, creating a colourful, welcoming environment.
‘Jack and the Bean Stalk’ art theme sets a whimsical tone, with the ‘giant’ overseeing the garden. A recycled clothes hoist frame sits majestically for the hanging garden and colour abounds throughout.
The veggie scrap bin has been well utilised by neighbours for many years and feeds two worm farms and compost bin. The recent addition of ten wicking beds and four water saving beds, for herbs and vegetables, are proving beneficial. A community herb bed, where neighbours can pick a little herb for their dinner, is looking splendid.
Plants are for sale, as is morning tea and light lunch for $10 along with a raffle.
Maryborough Garden Club members will showcase their artworks and will feature the many and varied activities of the Maryborough Garden Club.
Toilets are available at The Hut
The Maryborough Garden Club looks forward to welcoming you.
