The garden at Macca’s Inn is relatively young at 6 years of age. When the current owners purchased the property it was so over grown, that you couldn’t even see the original beach shack which dates back to the 1960s, let alone see the beautiful views of the Great Sandy Straits and K’Gari (Fraser Island).  

Since the 2021 Open Garden the owners have been busy creating additional garden features and displays.

The garden consists of a rose garden, fruit trees, vegetable garden, mini rainforest, ferneries, hedges, chooks and lots of surprises around every corner, including one of the original Augie Sauer Morris Pie Van. Not much remains of the old pie van, but it is now set amongst a beautiful garden feature.

Visitors can enjoy sitting in the many seating areas to admire the tropical gardens and cool ocean views..

Owners Ann-Maree and Merv have a love of Anthuriums and Syngoniums, just to name a few, with many different colours and varieties on display and for sale. They also enjoy sharing their knowledge of gardening and propagation with friends, family and now Open Garden visitors.

During the Open Garden there will be plants and tea and coffee for sale.
